Turn iPhone Duo Into a Reading and Notes Workspace
A distraction-light workflow for reading articles, PDFs, newsletters, and research while keeping notes beside the source.

Build a two-pane routine
Open the article, PDF or book on one side and notes on the other. Keep the structure simple: source, key point, question and next action. Complex templates slow capture on a small device.
Use drag and drop for links and images when supported. Otherwise, share the source into the note first so excerpts remain traceable. Our multitasking workflows cover more combinations.
Make text comfortable
Choose a readable system text size before adjusting zoom inside each app. High contrast and consistent line length matter more than maximum words. For long sessions, match brightness to the room.
Keep the outer display useful
Reserve the outer screen for quick capture: a thought, link or voice note. Do longer reading and organization after unfolding. This reduces context switching.
For apps that handle adaptive layouts well, browse the app directory and our guide to foldable-ready apps.
A good reading setup should disappear into the task. If you spend more time arranging panes than reading, simplify the pair and save one repeatable workflow.
